Anthony Grainger Inquiry

The evidence phase of the Anthony Grainger Inquiry concludes this week with closing submissions by the Core Participants to the Chairman HHJ Teague QC in Liverpool Crown Court on 17 and 18 May 2017. The Chairman will then prepare a report and publish his findings. Together with Pete Weatherby QC and Fiona Murphy of Counsel, Tony Murphy of Bhatt Murphy acts for Mr Grainger’s partner, Gail Hadfield- Grainger.

Gail has released the following statement:
"The evidence the Inquiry has uncovered over the past four months has made clear to me that the Chairman will wish to seriously consider the question of whether Anthony was unlawfully killed.”

Tony Murphy said:
“The magnitude of the failings exposed by this Inquiry are such that, left un-remedied, it is not safe for GMP to be allowed to deploy armed officers”

The Core Participants’ closing submissions will be published on the Inquiry website.
