The Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Training Standards 2019 – commissioned by Health Education England on behalf of the NHS – provide a national benchmark for the training of those who are required to provide support and care to the most vulnerable and distressed people in education, health and social care settings. These standards aim to reduce and minimise reliance on restraint or restrictive practices by promoting a positive culture and practice that focuses on prevention, de-escalation and reflective practice within a rights based framework.
