Catriona is a solicitor at Bhatt Murphy, representing clients in private and public law claims against the police and other state bodies, as well as bereaved families in inquests arising from deaths following contact with the state.
Catriona acts for clients in civil claims, complaints and public law challenges involving police misconduct. She is also developing a practice in representing young people in cases relating to their treatment in Young Offenders Institutions. Her inquest practice focuses on deaths of individuals detained in the prison estate or immediately following their release whilst under the control of the Probation Service, and of individuals following police contact.
She was part of the team acting for bereaved families and survivors affected by the Grenfell Tower fire in the public inquiry and their subsequent civil claims.
Catriona joined Bhatt Murphy in 2017 and qualified as a solicitor in 2020. She is co-chair of the Police Action Lawyers Group and a member of the INQUEST Lawyers Group.
