Leila is a Trainee Solicitor at Bhatt Murphy.

Leila joined Bhatt Murphy in 2023 and has worked on the Covid-19 Public Inquiry representing Disabled People’s Organisations. She currently represents bereaved families in inquests, particularly those involving mental health services and prisons. She works on civil claims against public authorities, including claims arising from deaths in detention, treatment of pregnant women in prisons and failures by mental health services. Leila also assists on prison law matters including parole board hearings.

Leila studied Philosophy at the University of Cambridge and has a masters degree in Human Rights from UCL. She spent several years in the third sector working in international development and social justice organisations, with a particular focus on supporting those experiencing structural oppression. Prior to joining Bhatt Murphy, Leila worked as a paralegal at Disability Law Service focusing on community care law.
