Rachel joined Bhatt Murphy in 2024 as a Paralegal.
She is currently working in our Covid-19 Public Inquiry Team, representing Disabled People Organisations. She is also assisting with the firm’s new enquiries, where she speaks to those who wish to instruct Bhatt Murphy in its specialist fields and reviews the viability of these cases with the firm’s partners.
Prior to joining Bhatt Murphy, Rachel worked as a Legal Assistant at Border Violence Monitoring Network (BVMN). BVMN is an independent network of NGO’s, who monitor and litigate human rights violations along the Greek and Balkan migration route. As a Legal Assistant, she drafted submissions to the European Court of Human Rights, Special Rapporteurs, European Ombudsman’s and various UN bodies, outlining human rights abuses relating to pushbacks, unauthorised detention and mistreatment by border force authorities and Frontex. Before pursuing law, Rachel interned at the United Nations Refugee Agency and the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy in campaign and policy positions. She has also volunteered for various direct aid charities, including on a refugee camp in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Rachel graduated from Durham University in 2021, receiving First Class Honours in History. She completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Law course in 2023, achieving a Distinction and sat the SQE 1 exams in January 2024, scoring in the top quintile.
