Bhatt Murphy represent Liberty in ‘Snoopers Charter’ legal challenge

On 27 and 28 February the Divisional Court will hear Liberty’s challenge to Part 4 of the Investigatory Powers Act, also known as the ‘snooper’s charter’.

At the hearing Liberty will challenge government powers to order private companies to store everybody’s communications data and internet history so that state agencies can access it. Liberty argues that indiscriminately retaining every person’s data in this way violates the UK public’s right to privacy.
