The Ministry of Justice have paid £12,000 in damages for false imprisonment to Bhatt Murphy client SXM after he was released from prison almost two months late. The prison service had failed to take account of SXM’s time spent on remand when calculating his release date, meaning that he was detained for 54 days after he should have been released.
SXM was represented by Joanna Khan.
