Raju Bhatt appointed as Assessor on Public Inquiry into the death of Sheku Bayoh

Raju Bhatt has been appointed as one of two assessors on the Public Inquiry into the police restraint related death of Sheku Bayoh in May 2015 in Kirkaldy, Scotland.

The inquiry is to be chaired by Lord Bracadale (look here). It will examine the circumstances leading to Mr Bayoh’s death, the post incident management process, the subsequent investigation into his death and the relevance of Mr Bayoh’s actual or perceived race (look here for its terms of reference).

Raju Bhatt’s appointment was announced by the Scottish Government as the Inquiry prepares to embark on its work (look here for the announcement).
