Before joining Bhatt Murphy, Asher worked at Rights and Security International (formerly Rights Watch UK) in their Migration and Citizenship team. Where he was responsible for conducting research on a variety of issues at the intersection of British nationality law, citizenship deprivation, and repatriation efforts.
Asher was previously a member of Care4Calais’ Legal Access Team. As a caseworker, he was responsible for providing support and guidance to refugees and asylum seekers across the UK.
Asher graduated from the University of Bristol in 2023 with an MA in law, where he specialised in International Refugee Law. During his master’s, he took part in a jointly led research project with UOB and the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion (ISI), investigating the practice of citizenship deprivation.
Asher also has a BA in philosophy from Bristol University.
