Colin
Colin specialises in representing those who have been harmed and failed by the state. He often works with clients in immigration detention and prison, and he assists clients to overturn wrongful criminal convictions. He is particularly interested in cases which protect and enforce the rights of refugees and victims of human trafficking.

Colin has pursued numerous successful applications for judicial review challenging unlawful state policies impacting on refugees and those who are subject to immigration control. He also has a strong track record in securing substantial damages in civil claims against the state.

Colin joined Bhatt Murphy in 2021 as a solicitor specialising in immigration detention and migrants’ rights. He previously worked for Wilson Solicitors LLP from 2012, where he qualified as a solicitor in 2015. He is a Supervising Senior Caseworker under the Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme.

Colin also researches and teaches at the University of Leeds, where he is working on a PhD regarding the criminalisation of victims of human trafficking.
