Letter of apology and settlement secured in the sum of £17,000 for a family who were the subject of police raid at their home. The suspect the police were looking for had moved from the property almost twelve months previously.
The Metropolitan Police Professional Standards Department accepted that the officer should have checked with Claimants’ housing provider to confirm that the address held for the suspect was correct before applying for the search warrant.
