Grenfell Tower Inquiry publishes Phase 1 report

The Phase 1 report for the Grenfell Tower Inquiry was published on 30 October 2019.

The report concludes that Grenfell’s refurbishment did not comply with Building Regulations and that there were systemic failures in the London Fire Brigade’s response regarding training, planning and equipment. It is also critical of the role of the Council and the Kensington and Chelsea Tenants Management Organisation.

The Inquiry’s second phase, beginning in January 2020, will investigate who was responsible for the fire and for the way in which victims were failed in the aftermath.

Mark Scott, Shamik Dutta, and Catriona McGregor act for a number of the bereaved, local residents and survivors of the disaster, who are Core Participants to the Inquiry.
