LVJ v Commissioner of the Police for the Metropolis (2024)

Settlement of £30,000 secured in a claim for assault, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution for man who was violently arrested at Notting Hill Carnival and subsequently unsuccessfully prosecuted for assaulting a police officer.

TXB v Chief Constable of Avon and Somerset Police (2024)

Settlement of £21,500 secured in claim for assault and false imprisonment, breaches of the Equality Act 2010, Human Rights Act 1998 and the Data Protection Act 2018 for woman who was subject to prolonged restraint in the course of her arrest including multiple PAVA sprays at close range while holding her young baby.

Jennifer Edmunds v Commissioner of the Police for the Metropolis (2024)

Settlement of £10,000 secured for a claim for malicious prosecution, breaches of the Human Rights Act 1998, misfeasance in public office, assault and false imprisonment of arising from Ms Edmunds’ arrest at the Clapham Common vigil for Sarah Everard and her subsequent prosecution.

NXS and others v Commissioner of the Police for the Metropolis (2023)

Settlement of £12,000 secured for a claim for trespass to land, assault and false imprisonment, breaches of the Data Protection Act 2018 and breaches of the Human Rights Act 1998 after Met officers forcibly entered family’s home to arrest a deceased man.

Inquest into the death of LB (2023)

Part of the legal team representing the family of LB at the inquest in which the jury found that failings of Practice Plus Group, the organisation responsible for healthcare at the prison contributed to the death of LB while she was on remand at HMP Foston Hall. The Ministry of Justice admitted at the inquest that prison officers did not complete all hourly observations in the hours prior to LB’s death as required by the ACCT procedures.

Inquest into the death of Zoe Wilson (2022)

Part of the legal team representing the family of Zoe Wilson at the inquest in which the jury found that multiple failings of the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust contributed to the death of 22-year-old ZW on 19 June 2019 while she was a patient at Callington Road Hospital.

Inquest into the death of Nadia Shah (2021)

Part of the legal team representing the family at the inquest in which the jury found that failings of Elysium Healthcare Ltd contributed to the death of 16-year-old Nadia Shah while she was detained under the Mental Health Act at Elysium’s secure unit in Potters Bar.
