Semina was a vulnerable 12-year-old girl with autism and a history of self harm who died in June 2021 after taking an overdose of medication. In the months prior to her death she had reported to Merseyside Police and her school that she had been raped by an older boy who attended her school. The inquest examined the response of all agencies who were involved with Semina’s care including Sefton Social Services, CAMHS, Merseyside Police, MerseyCare and Stanley High School.
