Police pay damages to survivor of modern slavery

A survivor of modern slavery and human trafficking who was arrested when he sought help from the Metropolitan Police has secured an apology and a damages settlement of £25,000.

The police accepted there were significant failures in training officers on modern slavery and human trafficking, and that the Claimant should not have been arrested when he sought help and protection from the police.

Molly Cox of Bhatt Murphy acted for the Claimant.
